I am coordinating for next summer 4 family%26#39;s that will have 9 kids 10 %26amp; under. A middle place to meet is Red River gorge. Has anyone ever stayed at Red River gorge cabin rentals and can tell me what you thought of the cabins.
Thank you for the help.
Red River Gorge
Did you have some specifically in mind? I haven%26#39;t stayed in any but noticed them when driving around. I was down there about about 3 weeks ago. There are several that have different owners. The ones I saw looked rather modest - not too fancy. Not like the new, bright, luxury log cabins you%26#39;ll find in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee for example. It%26#39;s a very shady area and it looks like moss and mildew could be a problem. I didn%26#39;t see any name brand hotels nearby, just some mom and pop places, plus the state park lodge which looked like the nicest accomodations in the area. The lodge is also nicely situated as far as hiking around the natural bridge area. Keep a close eye on the kids when they walk across the bridge!
Red River Gorge
That was the name of it Red River Gorge Cabin Rentals. After I posted I re-reviewed the pictures. And they do look basic. But the area does sound nice from what I read. Thank you for the feedback.
You can easily stay at Natural Bridge State Resort Park in Slade (either at the lodge or in their cabins) and drive to the Gorge each day to hike...
There%26#39;s also great hiking right around the park and even a pool for the kiddies; great dining room, too.
Has anyone stayed at the Natural Bridge and Red River Gorge 5 star cabin rentals? They seem pretty fancy.
I checked out the state park as you recommended. It looks nice. It can show all of the state parks, resort or not, in KY. That was helpful. Thank you.
I, too, would like to hear about the 5 star rental.
If you have a bunch of young children you need to be aware that there are some very dangerous cliffs at the gorge. I%26#39;ve hiked it foe years and would totally hesitate taking children on some of those trails. I%26#39;d recommend natural bridge state park. There%26#39;s a lot to do there, and the lodge seemed decent though I haven%26#39;t stayed there. I%26#39;ve stayed at Jenny Wiley State park which was a little bit further and we had a great time.
