Attending a conference at the Galt Hotel for the week of November 16th. Looking for lodging of good value within easy, walking distance of the Galt. Thanks in advance for your suggestions.
Suggestions for lodging within walking distance of the GaltAlthough I%26#39;ve never tried this myself, LlindaC one of the local experts often recommends using Priceline.com. She says that you usually will get the Galt House or the Hyatt (which is within walking distance). Here%26#39;s one of her posts.

Suggestions for lodging within walking distance of the GaltI have used Priceline to get great values for downtown Louisville. I have used it at least 5 times and have gotten the Hyatt three of those and the the Galt House the other two. One of those was even during a fairly large conference, when the Galt House website was showing rooms at over $200 per night. I think I paid $110 on Priceline that time, but I%26#39;ve gotten rooms for as low as $45 at the Hyatt.
Hi! Howdy, Seagrover! Yes, I am very much the Priceline geek. I just returned today from a weekend in St Louis where the hotels were supposed to be full, but I got the Wyndham for $55. Go to Priceline, name your own bid. Select Louisville Downtown for your choice of hotels, then check the 31/2 stars box. That will give you the Hyatt or the Galt house if your bid is confirmed. A four star bid will give you the Seelbach or the Brown, whicgh are not as close and are restoration hotels...fancy, but smaller rooms and higher prices. Then enter your bid, credit card info. If your first bid is accepted, congrats! If not, try a 5 dollar increment at least 24 hours later. (Same time, next day)
My husband is president of a small company. We use priceline for our employees when they travel and it has saved us thousands of dollars. The week you are arriving should be a VERY slow week and you should get a tremendous deal.
