Thinking about car/tent camping around Mammoth Cave/ Horse Cave. We%26#39;d like to take the kids to Kentucky Down Under and take a cave tour. Any suggestions for a nice campgrounds with clean facilities? Any local restaurants we should venture to?

I can%26#39;t help with any camping suggestions, but I can recommend the Sahara Steak House in Cave City. It%26#39;s about 7-8 miles from Mammoth. It doesn%26#39;t look like much from the outside, but the steaks melt in your mouth, and the chicken I had was delicious. Very tender!! They have a salad bar with the best vegetable soup I have ever tasted. After a 2 hour cave tour, we were pretty hungry, and this place really met our needs!
Enjoy your trip, and be sure to make advance cave tour reservations in Mammoth, especially during peak season. (recreation.gov). The tours can sell out very quickly, especially on rainy days.

We enjoyed the campground at Mammoth Cave National Park. If you can live without hook-ups, it%26#39;s a great place to stay.
camping in the park is awsome at one the campgrounds I know they dont have electric but I think they have water I dont remember though. THey do have a bathhouse but you have to pay with tokens per 10 min or so. Its a great experience though.
