coming to Lexington Nov 7-8th

My husband and I will be in Lexington for the football game on the 8th. Friday night we are staying at the Four Points Sheraton, alittle scared after the reviews on it. We will be there late because we arn%26#39;t leaving Indiana until after we get off work. On the 8th we are at Marriots Griffin Gate. It looks like it is an afternoon game that day where is a great place to go to dinner after the game?

What kind of weather should we expect? will it be cold then?

thanks

It will more than likely be cold. I would layer so you can add or take away as needed.

There are many good restaurants. I%26#39;ll list a few of our favorites. The important thing is to make reservations wherever you decide on! Otherwise you could be waiting a very long time!

For gourmet meals:

Jonathon%26#39;s

Bellini%26#39;s

Metropol

Portofino%26#39;s

Good food, festive atmosphere:

Malone%26#39;s

Sal%26#39;s

Merrick Inn

We%26#39;re Dawgs fans who went 2 years ago and are going again this year. Last time, after the game we went downtown to De Shays, which was excellent. Part continental, part steakhouse, I%26#39;d call it. We waited nearly an hour to be seated (lot of football fans there) but once we got our table, the service and food were very good. We were a party of 6 and everybody left happy. GO DAWGS!

Thanks!!

Right Roswell Dad, GO DAWGS!!!!!! We are so excited about the game. We havn%26#39;t been to Ky for a game. Last year we went to Vanderbilt to watch the Dawgs. Can%26#39;t wait for the game.

Sounds like we%26#39;re on the same schedule. Every year we alternate going to Kentucky or Vanderbilt. Getting tickets for these games is easier than finding them for many home games. Now if we can just take care of Florida first...

Lets see....two years ago.....the GOALPOSTS CAME DOWN!!

Not likely this year.

It is scheduled to be an afternoon game, and will likely stay that way. I would come prepared for just about anything weather wise. Check the forecast a day or two in advance. It could be 70 and sunny, or it could be 30 and snowing.

Can%26#39;t argue with any of those restaurant selections. Rest assured, though, that they will all be crowded, and if you have no reservation, you will wait a LONG TIME. Malone%26#39;s and Sal%26#39;s do not take reservations. There are several new restaurants a Victorian Square, where DaShae%26#39;s is. One of them is a Brazilian restaurant. If you don%26#39;t get a reservation, I would focus on eating downtown. Lots of places within walking distance, and I%26#39;m sure you would get in someplace.

Remember there is no general admission parking at Commonwealth. Your best bet is to find a place at one of the numerous businesses that take parking on Nicholasville Road. Expect to pay anywhere from $10.00 to $30.00. There is also a church on Forest Park, just off of Nicholasville Rd., right across from Commonwealth. They will park you for a small donation. We tailgate next door at the DTD house (reserved), and send our overflow to that church.

Ahhem....go Cats!

It was just announced here in Lexington that the UK/UGA game will be televised, and the kickoff time will change. It will be dependent on who wins the UGA/FLA game this weekend. If Florida wins, the game will be televised by Raycom at 12:30 (Bloody Mary Game). If Georgia wins, it will move to an 8:00 p.m. kickoff on ESPN (Bourbon Game).

If it%26#39;s an 8:00 kick, it WILL BE COLD.

Ok, so I have ordered a long sleeved T-shrit and a stadium blanket. I will be layered up for the game. I%26#39;m so excited.

GO DAWGS!!!!!!

Yeah, we watched your fans tear down the goalposts in 2006. Hope never to see that again! The UGA athletic Web site confirms the possible kickoff times. Naturally, I hope we%26#39;re playing at night after having beaten the Gators again! Bundle up!

Thanks for all the info. Saw that the Georgia site has the change in times. I%26#39;m also hoping for the 8pm game!! Can%26#39;t wait!!

Oops. I accidentally posted my reply as a new topic.

In case you didn%26#39;t see it, Sal%26#39;s and Malone%26#39;s take ';preferred'; seating in advance. It is basically a reservation but with a fuzzier time frame. We%26#39;ve usually been seated within 15 minutes of our time.
