South 3rd St -- Is it safe?

I will be driving a new car to Atlanta next week, stopping for the night in Louisville. I dread the thought of staying at a depressing hotel along I-65, so I was thinking it might be nice to stay at one of the two B%26amp;Bs in the 1000 block of S 3rd St, as they are well under $150/night. Is this a safe area? I assume these places have street parking (although maybe not), which would make me uneasy with the new car. The two B%26amp;Bs I have in mind are Rocking Horse Manor and Samuel Culbertson Mansion. Thanks!

I assume but don%26#39;t know for a fact that the Culbertson has off-street parking. You may just want to telephone the place and ask.

There is street parking in the neighborhood which I believe to be generally safe but the occasional break-in can happen anywhere.

Included is a link to some reviews of the Culbertson on trip advisor. Sounds like a good option.

The area is lovely...lots of big mansions, trees, etc and close to the downtown area and the UofL campus. There are several good restaurants there as well...3rd Avenue cafe, Buck%26#39;s (upscale). I stayed at the Culbertson for a birthday a few years ago and it is gorgeous. I think you%26#39;d be happy with that choice!
