Kid-Friendly things to do in Lexington

Hi - I was hoping you could help me. We%26#39;ll visit with some friends the weekend of Nov.14th and are looking for some things to do that weekend. All of our kids are young 2-7 years old. Some fun and local restaurant recommendations are welcomed. We do plan on visiting the Explorium. Thanks in advance!

Lexington does not have a zoo, but there is the Salato Wildlife Education Center in Frankfort that kids would enjoy.

You could take them to Gattitown one night for pizza and games.

The Kentucky Horse Park is an option if you think the kids would like to be outside and see some horses up close.

There is ice skating at the Lexington Ice Center.

As far as restaurants go.... ones that might be more kid friendly, but are good local faves....

Joe Bologna%26#39;s (Italian, good prices, downtown in a historic church building)

Ramsey%26#39;s (Local, regional food...very casual, inexpensive...southern cooking)

Cielito Lindo (Mexican, very kid friendly laid back atmosphere, good food, downtown...can%26#39;t tear or really up anything)

I hope you have a great trip and let me know if I can be of more help.

You are a huge saviour! Thanks so much, I like the recommendations you gave, they are fun and relaxed activities :)

All the kids are going to love the GattiTown recommendation.

If anyone has other recommendations, I%26#39;d love to hear them!

When my kids were little they loved to go to Joseph-Beth Booksellers at the Mall at Lexington Green. It is huge bookstore with a large children%26#39;s section. There is an indoor fountain in the back of the store, and a pond out back with ducks and carp. There are kibble machines for the kids to feed the ducks and the fish.

They might enjoy the Arboretum near Commonwealth Stadium if the weather is good.

Puccini%26#39;s in Chevy Chase Place is a good restaurant that kids seem to love. Pizza, etc.

Check out Joseph Beth Booksellers website. When my son was in that age range he loved their story telling hour. I think it%26#39;s on Sat morning but that could have changed.

I also second the Horse Park. It%26#39;s a lot of fun.

Bounce U has some non-reserved bounce times. Check out their site as well for specifics. There are a couple of gymnastics places that have times that aren%26#39;t reserved for parties. I can only remember Amerisports.

Movie Tavern may have some kid movies showing.

You guys have been the most helpful :)

Any Sunday brunch recommendations?

Alfalfa%26#39;s downtown always seems to have quite a few kids and is a great breakfast/lunch place...very popular. I am sure they would love the buge blueberry buckwheat pancakes...it%26#39;s on Main Street...easy to see.
