I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on where my family and I should vacation at for a week in Sept. 2009?
We just returned from a beautiful trip to upstate New York and I am already brainstorming for next years trip away. We live in Michigan (metro-Detroit area), so I am trying to get some brainstorms from the surrounding states within driving distance (max. drive time 6-7 hours) from us.
We will be traveling with about a group of eight. A variety of activity levels and interests. So, I am open to any suggestions. I just don%26#39;t know where to get started!
Thanks in advance for your assistance!

Lexington is beautiful if you like horses and beautiful horse country!
The cave area is nice...Mammoth Cave National Park.
Land Between the Lakes area is wonderful for families.
Bardstown- My Old Kentucky Home plus other area of interest.
Hodgenville-Abraham Lincoln%26#39;s Birthplace
Pleasant Hill- Shaker Village
Glendale-wonderful, small, quaint town..sits on railroad track. Famous Whistlestop restaurant.
Eastern Kentucky is beautiful. There%26#39;s Cumberland Falls as well as the Cumberland Gap
Alot of the places I mentioned are in close distnce to each other. Try doing some research on each. Hope that helps! Feel free to ask any other questions...
