the frankfort forum lacks info. Maybe someone here can tell me about hotels in Frankfort. Which ones are good and which ones to stay away from. Any info is welcomed. We are going to be there just one night and have no idea where to stay. Help!
Frankfort Ky
The Capitol Plaza has always been my favorite. They host most of the good political functions there and I%26#39;ve always been pleased with them.
Frankfort Ky
The Capitol Plaza downtown is the best Frankfort has to offer - whoops, I think it%26#39;s the Holiday Inn now. If the legislature is in session, you may have trouble getting in there. I%26#39;ve also stayed at the Days Inn which was quite decent with a basic continental breakfast. The one place I%26#39;d be sure to avoid is Knights Inn! Our employer booked us there once, and I told them they%26#39;d never see me in Frankfort again if I had to stay there!
It%26#39;s sad that the capital city doesn%26#39;t have more to offer, but the Capital Plaza Hotel (at least that%26#39;s how the sign still read yesterday; formerly Holiday Inn) is your best bet. Pretty nice and within walking distance to bars, restaurants, and the historic downtown district, which you%26#39;ll definitely want to take advantage of. Covered ';indoor'; pool.
Second choice would be either Fairfield or Best Western near Exit 58 on the east side of town.
You may also want to consider the downtown B%26amp;B across from the Transportation Building for some ';historic'; flavor; has a nice patio eatery.
Any other questions, ask away; I live here... : D
How about the Holiday Inn Express? There are no reviews here. Looking for an overnight stop during our drive from Chicago to Asheville in mid-July. Frankfort seems like a good more-than-half-way point.
Hampton Inn or Holiday Inn Express are equally priced. Any preference?
I have a picky wife (I love you, dear!) and two kids 5 %26amp; 4 yrs old who would like a swimming pool to burn off some energy.
Thanks,

I didn%26#39;t even know there was a HI Express; must%26#39;ve stuck it in that rabbit warren of pre-fabs off the interstate, LOL. Hampton is very, very nice; lovely outdoor pool and very classy. Close to the interstate (other side of US 127) and closer to the restaurant conglomeration: O%26#39;Charley%26#39;s, Chili%26#39;s, etc.
Drive downtown and check out one of the unique eateries there.
