Hampton Inn or Courtyard by Marriott ~downtown locations

I have narrowed it down to Hampton Inn or Courtyard Marriott both at the downtown location. There are mixed reviews about the Hampton some say it the best and others say it is really really noisy and close to the hospital, not the safest area? and the Courtyard is ranked 35 with good reviews so Im not sure why its so low in the ranking?? Is it in a bad location? Any other opinios, the good and the bad, about these two hotels would be great. THank you.

I%26#39;ve never stayed in either, but I think the Courtyard is in a better location.

If there is not much difference in the price you have been quoted, I would definitely select the Courtyard by Marriott downtown. It is at the corner of 2nd St %26amp; Main St. The location is about is about 6 blocks from the Louisville Slugger Bat Museum. The hotel is a short walk from the waterfront and also 4th St Live. There is an Old Spaghetti Factory restaurant one block south and one block west of the hotel which is nice and reasonably priced. I have not stayed at this hotel, I am just very familiar with the area. The Hampton Inn is probably OK, but the location is not nearly as good. As noted previously, if the price is not much different I would pick the Courtyard by Marriott.

Definitely the Courtyard. The area around the hospitals are not the greatest as far as traffic, noise, and safety.

Also the Courtyard is fairly new. It has a great location, close to many things, and I think it%26#39;s on the trolley line.

The Courtyard is on the trolley line as well. The Hampton is actually closer to downtown...I played piano there for 4 years when it was the Rodeway Inn. Refurbished, but not as new or nice as Marriott. It is right by Primo, one of Louisville%26#39;s finest restaurants. A little bit down on Market, still on trolley line is Melillo%26#39;s....a wonderful family run Italian restaurant. Spaghetti factory is a chain and the food can%26#39;t hold a candle to homemade meatballs, sauce etc like Melillo%26#39;s!!! Price is good, too.
