We are heading to Louisville April 25-27 so my husband can run in the 1/2 marathon. We have a 20-month old and a 5 year old and need to find something to do with them on Saturday and Sunday. We are definitely planning on going to the zoo, but don%26#39;t know what else is good for that age.
What to do with little kids
If the weather is nice, the Waterfront Park playground is a good choice. If the weather is bad, head to the Louisville Science Center, they have a Kidszone play area geared to kids under 7.

There are a lot of Kentucky Derby Festival events going on that weekend. Check out www.kdf.org - most events are free with a $3 Pegasus Pin (fundraiser for Derby Festival.) Two I would recommend for families are the Cherokee Art Festival - it%26#39;s a fun family event with children%26#39;s activity tent, snacks and art. Also - the Great Balloon Festival is awesome. There are multiple activities throughout the weekend - a balloon glow at night and races in the day.
Great for you and your husband. I ran that race 15 times before retiring from running. I would advise you to watch him at the finish or near the finish and pick a designated spot to meet. The finish line is crazy and very crowded. Also be aware that there is a full marathon happening as well, so many streets will be blocked off for several hours. Getting anywhere can be challenging. Where are you staying?
Check out Art Sparks at the Speed Art Museum. I just did a video for them that gives you a pretty good idea what it is all about.
