2007 Kentucky Derby & Oaks Schedule

Am greatly anticipating my 1st Derby and Oaks experience and would appreciate some input from experienced Oaks and Derby attendees on the race day schedules.

I.E.: What time do the gates open? What are all the festivities that go on at Churchill Downs on race days? What time does the Oaks race run? Am finding it difficult to find more information on the Kentucky Oaks; anyone have a good suggested website?

I have read the parking tips from previous postings and they have been helpful. And about obtaining Derby tickets (other than general admission) on Derby weekend: like other sporting events do scalpers abound trying to make a deal?

Thanks from this Derby 1st Timer!!!!!!

This is one of our local news stations, halfway down the page there is a Derby link you can follow.

Unfortunatly I can%26#39;t find a site with really detailed information. We usually plan on getting there in the morning - 10:00am. I think the first race gets off around 11:30. If you are going to the infield it is best to get there when the gates open to find a place in the field where you can see a horse. Just call Churchill Downs. I have seen scalpers every Derby, but have never used them so can%26#39;t offer any info there. Also make sure you check out the link on the wave3 website which tells you what you can and can%26#39;t bring. They are very strict, especially since the Queen will be here. I hope you have a great time! Louisville is a great town and worth visiting. Be sure to check out the nightlife after the races. Bardstown road has a lot of great restaurants and bars as does 4th street live. But be aware Oaks night and Derby night are going to be crowded wherever you go.

Anyone lucky enough to possess Kentucky Derby Tickets fully understands how difficult the process of finding one can be. Horse racing tickets in general are difficult to find, so here%26#39;s an address I would recommend for all ya ;)

Way to plug a scalper website in a year old post!
