My best friend and I are driving back to NJ from St. Louis. we decided instead of the boring route, we would stop in Louisville to visit someone then stop in Fredericksburg to see my sons new house. If anyone has made any portion of this trip and could offer advise please do. We do not plan on driving more than 4 - 5 hours at a stretch.
We are up for the adventure but want to be
prepared. Any ideas on where to stop.... We will spend the nite in Louisville before strting off again. It appears we would be stopping in West Virginia somewhere ovrrnight.
Any interesting places too or eateries. I am only just now researching the trip.
Thanks a lot!
Road trip: St Louis to Louisville to Fredericksburg VASince you%26#39;ll be in Louisville one evening only, I would suggest you take in one of our excellent locally owned restaurants.
How about one of these: Jack Fry%26#39;s (Bardstown Rd., Southern Cuisine), Seviche (Bardstown Rd., Latin), Primo (East Market St., Italian), Sapporo (Bardstown Rd., Sushi or Hibachi), Havana Rumba (Oechsle Ave., Cuban) to name a few of my favorites.
Here is a great website of reviews of many of Louisville%26#39;s restaurants. Be aware that some are chains. So, be sure to pick one that is locally owned and operated for a true Louisville experience.

Road trip: St Louis to Louisville to Fredericksburg VAamen, oakae, amen. I just don%26#39;t see why people flock to the Spaghetti Factory. Yuck!
There%26#39;s absolutely nothing between Lexington and Charleston. I think that region is one of the last in the US to still have analog cell service.
If you get car sick easily, be prepared for the ride between Charlestown and Beckley. Many turns and narrow lanes with not many places to stop and rest. It%26#39;s a toll road too. The new river gorge is worth seeing if you dont mind making a little detour.
