I would highly reccommend the Kentucky Horse Park. You may be able to fulfill your needs there. If you are looking to see an actual farm, there are some that do tours or you can look into one of the companies that does tours through several farms. You can look on visitlex.com for information about that.

I would look into these farms for tours...From what I can tell Three Chimneys and Lanes End are your best bet and you should not have too much problem making an appointment. Typically, you don%26#39;t have to pay, but you should tip your guide though.

Thank you so much. How about food. I hear Malone%26#39;s has good steak%26#39;s is that true? I also researched a Kentucky Hot Brown and would like to try one in Lexington. Any ideas?

Malone%26#39;s is very good. They have opened up another location in the Hamburg area and will open soon in Palomar. I would go with the original location in the Landsdowne Shoppes.

For a Hot Brown, there are many different versions. 2 places that have pretty good ones are Ramsey%26#39;s and Winchell%26#39;s. If you are looking at a menu, make sure it includes country ham and not deli sliced ham.

We went to the Kentucky Horse Park a couple of years ago and had a great time. Kids got to pet lots of horses.

I%26#39;ve done the official guide kind of thing and also the horse park, but I think you%26#39;d do just as well visiting Keeneland for breakfast at the kitchen (cheap) and watching the horses exercise (at least they use a nice polytrack here), and then taking advantage of one of the ';free'; (but tip generously) horse farm tours at Three Chimneys or similar.

The guided tour thing is good if you don%26#39;t have a car, though, as they%26#39;ll pick you up at the hotel and take you to Keeneland and some farms. Good luck.

Three Chimneys Farm has free tours which include the opportunity to visit with Smarty Jones, who won the Derby and Preakness a few years ago.

And -- not to start a stampede on tours to Three Chimneys or anything, but -- Derby and Preakness (and hopefully Belmont and Triple Crown) winner Big Brown will also stand at stud there after June.
