Jamestown is one of a number of small towns which surround Lake Cumberland. Jamestown in on the northern side of the Lake. It does not actually sit on the Lake itself, but is several miles north. The Jamestown Mariana is obviously on the Lake.

thanks, my husband and I are going there Aug 6th ( traveling north) then we%26#39;ll be traveling back home south on hwy 127. We will stay the night in jamestown on the 6th then on the 7th travel 127 to Albany, Ky, spend the night there then travel to Graysville, TN spend the night there then travel home to Alabama. Do you know any place to visit and eat while we are in Jamestown? Thank-you

I would suggest one of two places in/near Jamestown. The first is the Jamestown Marina Resort, which is on the lake about five miles south of Jamestown. They have a nice hotel and a very good restaurant at the marina. The other is the Lake Cumberland State Resort Park, which you get to by taking 127 south of Jamestown for about 7-10 miles. There will be a sign directing you to the park, and you wind your way through dense forest to the park, which sits on a bluff high over the Lake. The lodge and restaurant have been recently renovated. The restaurant, which used to serve a buffet, now serves a full menu of Kentucky inspired food. The lodge has a nice indoor/outdoor pool.

Not much else in Jamestown.

You might also check out ';Bread of Life Cafe'; in Jamestown -- Amish or Mennonite or something similar; closed on Sunday, at any rate -- along with a really cool antique/junk shop not far away.
