Derby Seats/Dress Code?

We have tickets to the Derby -- section 124, row T.

Are these good seats? Will we be able to see the race? What will others in this area be dressed like?

thanks!

Derby Seats/Dress Code?

You should definitely be able to see the race. Section 124 isn%26#39;t in the clubhouse, so the dress will probably be a mixed bag. Some people will be dressed up %26amp; you may also see shorts %26amp; jeans around you. If it were me, I%26#39;d probably go with a sundress (or some sort of comfortable weather appropriate dress or slacks), but nothing too extravagant.

You are between the 1/8th pole and the 3/16th pole so you are 250 yards before the finish line. These are not bad seats. I believe that they are bleacher/bench seats, not the individual folding chairs in boxes of six that you get closer to the finish line. Row T means you should be 21 rows from the rail.

Some people in the area will be dressed up--women with the big hats and dresses, men in jacket and tie. I always prefer to dress for comfort/dress for the weather when I go to the track.

Here%26#39;s some advice that I always interject when I participate in this forum: if you plan to bet, stay one race ahead in your handicapping. If you do that you can, for example, bet race three as soon as race two ends. If you do that you%26#39;ll only be in line for a few minutes rather than for 40 minutes. If you head for the window ten minutes before the race (not a problem outside of Oaks and Derby Day) you may get shut out.

See the diagram below for the exact location.
