Rental Cars

Are rental cars available to be picked up at Paducah Airport? Myself and 4 friends are arriving in Paducah on the 15 October 2008 and have been told by our Travel Agent in Western Australia that Rental cars are not available in Paducah. If not where is the nearest car rental located. We will be arriving via air at 8.30pm. Jenny Downe

I didn%26#39;t even realize that Paducah Airport has commercial flights. It has got to be a pretty tiny airport. Is Paducah your ultimate destination? Or are you just flying in to Paducah and then heading somewhere else in the area?

I just did a quick search and found Avis and Hertz rentals that indicate you can pick the car up at Paducah Airport.

The interesting thing I noticed is that if you go to the Avis website and request a car in Paducah, Kentucky, it shows that it can%26#39;t find the city. But if you do the search using the airport code (PAH), it shows that there are rental cars available. A compact is $48 US dollars, but you%26#39;ll probably want to get a full size since there are 5 of you with luggage.

Paducah is DEFINITELY a very small airport. If you want to rent a car there, I%26#39;d be sure to have it reserved in advance. I don%26#39;t think you could arrive at 8:30 pm and find someone there to rent one to you.

Our group is a quilting group on our own trip of some specific quilting areas in the USA. Paducah is our destination to check out quilting shops in the area.

Very cool! I%26#39;m originally from Southeastern Kentucky and I remember sitting in on quilting bees as a little girl. I still have some of my grandmother%26#39;s quilts.

Yes, reserve it now and you will get a better price! Get your international liences now to before you leave your country. Remember to check and see if they charge extra for extra drivers to.

The advice given above is correct about Avis and Hertz. Paducah is a small airport only serviced commercially (right now) by Northwest Airlink via Memphis. Definately have your car reserved in advance as upon arrival there will probably only be about 3 airport employees around. Have a great trip!
