Can anyone suggest a few good restaurants in Paducah..some local places that are good that you cant find anywhere esle or just come good places to eat even if they are chains. Thanks!
good restaurants
Well, you%26#39;ve got most of the standard chain restaurants off of exit 4 on I-24. Friday%26#39;s, Red Lobster, O%26#39;Charley%26#39;s, etc. But if you would like something a bit different, tasty, and about the same price as the chain restaurants, I would go to Flamingo Row. It%26#39;s on exit 4 as well, but print the map because it%26#39;s about 4 blocks off the main drag and might be a little hard to find.
Their website is: www.flamingorow.com.
If you%26#39;re staying in town, I would suggest Escape Bed and Breakfast for lodging. $65 / night gets you a room with a queen bed and a full size hot tub, or 2 queens and a whirlpool tub. It%26#39;s clean, modern, and has a movie theme. It%26#39;s pretty neat, and a great bargain. Of course I%26#39;m biased... I%26#39;m the owner of the B%26amp;B. ;)

good restaurants
I agree that Flamingo Row would be good, rather unique. You might also want to check out the downtown area, which is great. Whaler%26#39;s Catch on 123 N. 2nd Street and C.C. Cohen on Broadway are excellent. Also, DFratelli is on Broadway, but I think a little overpriced. You will find no smoking as the city has a new ordinance of no smoking in all restaurants.
I highly recommend heading about 30 minutes from Paducah to ';Patti%26#39;s'; in Grand Rivers - best known for their inch thick pork chops and mile high pies.
My mom LOVES Patty%26#39;s.
Downtown Paducah, at the Market Square, there are several one of a kind local restaurants. They are all very good in my opinion. My favorites are Cynthia%26#39;s Ristorante for a mix of fresh made pastas, chicken and steak dishes. They make their pasta fresh in house daily. Very nice atmosphere and service. Prices range from $10.00 - 30.00. A little pricey but well worth it. Feels like I%26#39;m in downtown Manhatten or Chicago every time I go there.
Then a couple doors down is a very reasonably priced amercian mexican place ';Tribeca';. Fresh mexican dishes (not authentic, but so so good). I love this place. I go there for lunch and the staff are always friendly and in a great mood! Prices are very affordable too.
Across the street, behind the market house theatre is Kirchoff%26#39;s Bakery. Very good baked goods, salads and sandwiches! Sit outside on the street and watch the day go by!
I love the downtown area and feel as if I%26#39;ve just gone on vacation everytime I go there to visit!
Unique one of a kind gift shops and antique stores galore! Such a fun cobblestone street!
Across the way is the Paducah Performing Arts Center.
props to Max%26#39;s Brick Oven-Downtown Paducah.
Great Service,Great Food.
I had the Jambalaya Pasta and my wife had the special,, Blackened Grouper. Both were delicious.
This was the best meal that i have had in the W. Kentucky area...bar none. Been going to the lake area since i was a kid. I would recommend getting a reservation on the weekends.
Also went to the Seafood Buffet at Ky. Dam Village.
Very good. We enjoyed the raw bar more so.
Yes, Max%26#39;s is good! And there is a new restaurant across the street from Max%26#39;s that I have not tried yet, ';Tucan%26#39;s';. It looks great from the outside.
What night did you eat the Seafood buffet at the Dam? We thought they didn%26#39;t have it anymore. Good to know.
Patti%26#39;s is usally real good IF you get pork chops but some other things can be burnt bad. It is worth the drive to see the town it is in.

seafood buffet at the village is friday night only.
i believe it is from 5-9 pm.
been to patti%26#39;s twice,, very good the first time, but the last time we went it was so..so.(extra salty) I recommend the pork chops also. To me,, they have become to commercialized and rank quantity over quality. That meaning,,, they try to push through as many guest as possible on any given night....JMO.
does anyone remember the diamond restaurant,,,they specialized in catfish dinners.i think it used to be where knott%26#39;s bbq is located now.just having a family squabble about olden days!!!
thanks
