Four Roses Bourbon Distillery - worth a visit?

Hi there

We are visiting Lawrenceburg as part of our road trip in September and was thinking of taking a tour round the Four Roses Distillery, as this is our favourite bourbon. There%26#39;s nothing on Tripadvisor about the distillery at all and I wondered if it was worth a visit?

Thanks

Claire

Four Roses Bourbon Distillery - worth a visit?

We%26#39;re heading to the Bluegrass state this weekend and plan on taking in a distillery or two but it appears that the Four Roses isn%26#39;t open now. Be sure to verify their seasonal hours.

We have done the Marker%26#39;s Mark in Loretta and it was outstanding. Also Heritage in Bardstown is very good. No sampling at Maker%26#39;s Mark because that%26#39;s a dry county but plenty to sample in Bardstown :)

I haven%26#39;t been to that distillery but check out this site for others that may be on your route.

Four Roses is pretty good Bourbon but their site and tour is not much. We are Native Kentuckians and we have visited all of the distilleries in the state. Heaven Hill in Bardstown has the very best tasting room experience -hands down. The Jim Beam Distillery is practially next door to HH and also worth a visit.

However, Maker%26#39;s Mark in Loretto is the best tour, most scenic, most memorable, most fun, best bourbon -and our favorite.

Just back from our weekend trip to Kentucky%26#39;s Bourbon trail. On Saturday we did Wild Turkey, which wasn%26#39;t in production and only provided a tour of the grounds. Then went to Maker%26#39;s Mark - - a second visit for us and still a pleaser. They%26#39;ve added a nice gift shop and tasting area since our last visit in May07. Then did Heaven Hill to close the day. It was a great day!
