I am planning to attend the 2009 Kentucky Derby and having a hard time finding accommodations. Most online sites have no rooms available. Is it better to call each hotel directly or book through a package deal? Would it be better to stay in a city outside of St. Louis? I also was wondering what is the best way to get tickets for the races, especially for the infield.
Derby 2009Most area hotels probably won%26#39;t publish availability online. You%26#39;d be better to call directly. They raise the rates during Derby and many require a three night minimum. I%26#39;d prefer to stay in ';Louisville';. There is a lot going on during the Derby weekend and you%26#39;d miss a bunch by commuting to another town.
For the infield, you can buy your ticket at the gate the day of the race. There%26#39;s no advance required. It won%26#39;t sell out.
Do a search on ';Derby'; here and read previous threads with advice and info.
Good luck.
Derby 2009would you want to rent a house or swap houses for events?
