Christmas day lunch

We will be travelling around Kentucky on Christmas Day/Boxing Day Has anyone got any suggestions for lunch(I don%26#39;t fancy stopping on the side of the road eating dry biscuits!)Are there many restaurants open on Christmas Day?. We do not have any family in USA, therefore have to rely on restaurants

Many thanks in advance.

Christmas day lunch

In Louisville, options for food on Christmas Day are pretty limited. The big hotels downtown (Galt House, Brown, Seelbach, etc) generally offer a Christmas brunch option - excellent but a bit expensive. Hours and options change each year but usually something like 11 AM - 3PM. Also, the hotels generally have a more casual place (sandwhich, salad) that are open later - maybe until 6PM. And, my recollection is that some of the local Chinese places are open. Fast food places are all closed.

If you are interested in the hotel fancy brunch option, you should certainly make reservations (months in advance).

Christmas day lunch

The Campbell House Inn in Lexington does a nice brunch buffet. I was there with my family this past Christmas Day. I believe they close it down around 4:30ish and the last reservation available was something like 3:45pm. The place was busy. So be sure to make a reservation if you decide to dine there.

I think Vietnam Kitchen is open on Christmas Day as well, it is on south 3rd street, and a wonderful restaurant.

I have never ventured out on Christmas day for dinner! I would like to invite you to our house if you%26#39;d like!

Seriously, we have an excellent online group of folks who work in the restaurant industry and/or eat out frequently. The site is maintained by a food editor who does a great job. Please visit www.louisvillehotbytes.com and post this question. I%26#39;m sure lots of friendly folks will be glad to help you!
