We just spent a week in Lexington for a convention.
There is a brand new Holiday Inn Express Northeast on Sharkeys Way, about 2 miles from the convention center. Wonderful hotel, great staff, very good breakfast, good rates. There is a Wendys, Taco Bell, Applebees, and a chicken place within walking distance of the parking lot, also a Walgreens.
If you want local favorites try Billy%26#39;s BBQ,make sure you try the onion rings, Ramsey%26#39;s Diner, home cooking and homemade pies, and Joe Bologna%26#39;s,a breadstick is a must.
Great wineries,Equus Run was my favorite, bourbon distilleries, just don%26#39;t go to Woodford Reserve on Sunday, if you want to sample, no samples but you can buy a bottle and try the bourbon balls.
Lexington hotel and food
I live right across the street from Sharkey Way. Im glad to know now that the hotel is great. I should recommend it for anyone who ever wants to stay in Lexington close to downtown. The area that the hotel is in used to be a huge farm until the city bought the land and turned it into what you see today.
