going to visit elizabethtown, which motels are best?

I am going to visit elizabethtown the end of october. I have looked online and found that there are some upscale ones, like ramada, howard johnson, la quinta and quality inn. Which do you recommend? I have a budget of around $70 per night and would like a motel that%26#39;s close to downtown or freeman lake park. I would appreciate any and all comments:)

Wow it doesn%26#39;t look like anyone uses this forum...

Any news in Elizabethtown? We pass through here on our way to visit friends (and sometimes stop) so I check this occasionally - hoping someone has posted...

Can anyone answer the question that was posted way-back-when about where to stay?

:)

Many thanks!

I highly recommend the La Quinta, it is newer and well maintained, and in your $70 price range. The staff are friendly, and the breakfast is well stocked. There is a brand new Comfort Suites that just opened as well as a Holiday Inn Express, both of which are nice but more expensive. All of the nicer hotels are on the North end of town, which is 5 minutes from downtown or Freeman Lake....you don%26#39;t want to stay in any of the motels on the south end.

Feel free to ask any other specific questions and I%26#39;ll try to answer them for you.

if staying in Elizabethtown I suggest the Comfort Inn formerly the Quality Inn it is great they have big tv%26#39;s with computers in everyroom. A great breakfast gravy, biscuits, sausage, %26amp; waffles. And the rooms were very comfortable. Oh yeah and least I forget a really friendly staff

Thanks for responding. It only took me several months to notice! :) I am going to be by this way late summer/early fall so I will refer to your suggestions! I appreciate the info!

I will be heading through there tomorrow evening. I am staying at the Comfort Suites, and I will try to post a review on here tomorrow night from the hotel! :)

Please read my review of the Comfort Suites Elizabethtown! Talk about an outstanding hotel!! CLASS and cleanliness!! Beautiful room!

GeorgiaDisneyLover,

Thank you for your posts and your review.

Very helpful and I will keep this in mind as we get set to travel in about 30 days! (We ended up later than originally thought)

Thanks for sharing your experience.

Eat before you get here. City has passed a 2% tourism tax on all foods sold in restaurants and any item that is deli prepared. This even includes such items that are purchased at Super America%26#39;s etc

Justa-

Is that on top of any other taxes?

Otherwise, we pay that as well. Only higher. Try 8%. But I still %26lt;3 NY. (and Rochester ROCS) :)
