I%26#39;m looking at various investment options, one of which is a vacation home on a lake which I%26#39;d use myself during the year and also rent out. I%26#39;ve been to a few and am overall not impressed; some are little more than big ponds or no wider than a river, and I assume all are man-made. Am not a fisherman and would prefer not to have the fast boats with the loud motors whizzing around or party animals on houseboats; which would be the best for a natural, scenic, peaceful water getaway with rental potential?
Best Kentucky Lake?
It seems like you may have a hard time meeting all of your criteria. If the place is to be used as a rental, it would need to be on a fairly active lake. If the lake is active with vacationers, they generally want to use boats that could be too loud.
You may have to make some compromises between rental potential and peaceful. That said, I%26#39;d venture that Lake Cumberland (which is fingery %26amp; can be narrow in spots) or The Land Between the Lakes area (in Western Kentucky) would be your best bets for rental potential.
